Procrastination

By using the time wasters strategy this week, I found that I procrastinate greatly, and spend a large majority of my time doing other things besides my work. By recording my time wasters for this week, I am finally able to figure out what distracts me when working. Hopefully I can target these time wasters and begin to avoid them in the future.

For my SOC 355 class, I found that I waste a lot of time surfing the internet, especially Facebook. This is due to my large usage of the internet because a lot of the information for these class is found on the internet. During my search for facts for the class, I usually drift away from school work, and find something on the internet that entertains me. Facebook and ESPN were the two largest sites that distracted me, and I have learned now that I need to limit my access of these websites when I am doing school work. I had a take home quiz for this class, but I wasted a lot of time surfing the internet on various, unrelated sites. I also had to study for a quiz we had Thursday, but i spent a lot of time playing video games instead.

I wasted a lot of time for my SPA 102 class because I really dislike doing my homework for this class. The work is always repetitive and is very time consuming. I had homework due everyday from the workbook, and I found that almost everyday I found a way to procrastinate from the work. Monday I spent countless hours on Facebook and left my spanish work for later. Tuesday I worked hard on the assignment and got it done very efficiently. Wednesday I left the homework for late and night and watched a movie with my friends instead. Thursday was my last day of work and I got the work done quickly because I had to go out for my friends birthday.
